OpenStack

One of the things that I love best about my role in this company is the pleasure of interviewing some extremely bright and promising people. I have had that privilege several times over the past few months. As one result of that, this week everyone at hastexo is proud and happy to welcome Syed Armani among us.

It's that time of the year again where everybody's thoughts are already wandering off in expecation of some well-deserved holidays. 2012 "feels" finished and 2013 is coming up with a lot of cool conferences. Some of them are taking place in the first months of the new year and I'm more than happy to announce that we will be presenting stuff at numerous occasions. 

Earlier today, we announced a case study describing some of the work we've been doing with Rackspace in recent months, and this is a good opportunity to add some personal thoughts.

Yesterday, on a kind invitation from Márton Kiss from Xemeti, I had the pleasure to do a presentation on OpenStack High Availability at the OpenStack Hungary Meetup Group's monthly meeting. Budapest practically being in my back yard (it's only about 3 hours by train from Vienna, where I am based), I greatly enjoyed the quick trip.

Next month, I will be in an OpenStack meetup in Budapest, working on OpenStack with a customer in Germany, and then speak at OpenStack In Action 3 in Paris. And we have OpenStack training coming up as well. Read on to learn where and how to catch me and talk OpenStack.

The OpenStack Summit in San Diego is in full swing and just starting its third day. I completed my talk yesterday and am now darting from meeting to meeting at breakneck speed. Interest in OpenStack high availability for private enterprise clouds is overwhelming, and hastexo is smack in the middle of everything.

We've been fully operational for one year today. Time to take a quick breath and look back at a year that was among the most exciting in our lives, and time to look ahead to the next 12 months. In which things are likely to get even better.
